Counselor of EU Delegation in China visited China Association of Circular Economy

On March 4, 2022, ZHAO Kai, Executive Vice President of China Association of Circular Economy(CACE), received Sébastien PAQUOT, Counselor for Environment and Climate Change, Delegation of the European Union to China, and TONG Xiaolei, Environmental Policy Officer, for an in-depth exchange on promoting China-EU circular economy cooperation and other matters. MA Jinjin, Director of the International Cooperation Department of CACE, accompanied the delegation and participated in the discussion.

ZHAO Kai welcomed the visit of Sébastien PAQUOT and his delegation, and briefly introduced the recent exchanges and cooperation between China and Europe in the circular economy. Sébastien PAQUOT appreciated the efforts made by the CACE to promote practical cooperation between China and Europe in the circular economy industry. He pointed out that the EU and China have common topics in many fields such as improving the efficiency of resource utilization and developing circular economy, and there is great potential for cooperation between the two sides, and he expected both sides to take the circular economy cooperation memorandum signed in 2018 as a guide, give full play to the role of China-EU circular economy dialogue mechanism, and strengthen the policy dialogue and business exchange in the fields related to the circular economy between China and Europe.

Finally, the two sides reached a consensus on the next step to strengthen practical cooperation between China and Europe in the circular economy industry, especially in the prevention of plastic pollution and comprehensive utilization of waste textiles.
