CACE President Zhu Liyang was invited to attend the 2021 BRICS Forum on Partnership on New Industrial Revolution

On September 7, the 2021 BRICS Forum on Partnership on New Industrial Revolution was held in Xiamen, Fujian Province. The forum was co-hosted by the Minstry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the China Council for BRICS Think-tank Cooperation, the Fujian Provincial People’s Government and the Xiamen Municipal People’s Government, MITT-Center for International Economic and Technological Cooperation, Fujian Provincial Department of industry and information technology, Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, the theme of the Fourm is " Join hands in innovative cooperation to promote the stable and smooth functioning of global industrial and supply chains ". The opening ceremory of the forum was presided over by Xiao Yaqing, Minister of Industry and Information Technology. Xin Guobin, Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology, presided over the inauguration ceremony. Minster Xiao Yaqing pointed out in his speech that it is necessary to uphold the BRICS spirit of "Openness, Inclusiveness, Mutual benefit and Win-Win" should be upheld and the building of BRICS Innovation base should be taken as an opportunity to promote cooperation in the field of new industrial revolution among BRICS countries and jointly realize technological progress, industrial transformation and economic development.

Zhu Liyang, President of China Association of Circular Economy, was invited to participate in this forum and delivered a keynote speech entitled "Promoting Green Manufacturing As the Core to Lead the Upgrading of Industrial Chain and Supply Chain". In his speech, President Zhu Liyang pointed out that green development is not only an important trend of the new round of global industrial revolution, but also the only way to improve the green competitiveness of BRICS countries including China. At the same time, he proposed relevant organizations such as industry associations and chambers of commerce in various countries shoud strengthen cooperation in mutual learning of green policies, cooperation in green commerce, mutual recognition of green standards, and establishment of green cooperation mechanisms when building the BRICS partnership on new industrial revolution.
