China-Sweden New Energy Vehicle Recycling Forum held in Beijing

On November 23, 2023, China-Sweden New Energy Vehicle Recycling Forum was held in Beijing. The forum was hosted by China Association of Circular Economy(CACE),the Embassy of Sweden in China, and the Business Sweden,and co-organized by the New Energy Vehicle Recycling Special Committee of CACE.

The forum invited guests and representatives from the government, research institutes, universities, industry organizations and advanced enterprises to conduct in-depth communication on relevant policies, best practices and other contents around the key areas of new energy vehicles such as end-of-life automobile recycling and dismantling, automobile parts and components remanufacturing, comprehensive utilization of power batteries, and recycling of key metal materials.

Mr. Zhao Kai,executive vice president of CACE, and Ms. Linn Engvall, second secretary of the Embassy of Sweden in China, attended the forum and delivered speeches. The forum was chaired by Ms.Ma Jinjin,director of international cooperation department of CACE.

Li Yuke, Deputy Chief Engineer from CATARC Strategy and Policy Research Center, delivered a speech on the outline of new energy vehicle recycling policies and regulations. Tina Karlberg, Counsellor for Science and Innovation, Innovation and Science, Embassy of Sweden, gave a speech on new energy vehicle recycling policies and regulations in Sweden.

Chen Lihua, Strategy and Marketing Department Deputy General Manager of DEEPAL AUTOMOBILE TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD and Hou Huanhuan, General Manager of Hebei Changli Automotive Component Co., Ltd. shared the practices in the vehicle recycling and remanufacturing industry.

Sun Dongsheng, AirTech Application Manager from Munters Air Treatment Equipment (Beijing) Co Ltd.and Zhang Zhenzhong, General Manager from GEM Tianjin shared practices on battery recycling and utilization.

Cearo Wang, China EHS Head from EHS Dept., SKF, Leo Chen, Service & Parts Vice President from China Sales Region, Volvo Construction Equipment (China) Co., Ltd.,Yuan Xiao, Senior Engineer of China Metallurgical Industry Planning and Research Institute and Wang Shihan, Director of Strategic Account Service Department from of Yucheng Co., Ltd; General Manager of Beijing Automotive Dismantling Factory Co., Ltd.joined the roundtable discussion on the recycling of typical components and materials. Zhang Wei, the President of Institute of Remanufacturing Industry Technology of Jing-Jin-Ji attended the roundtable as the moderator.

Amanda Alkemark, Regional Manager Government Affairs of East Asia & Pacific from Business Sweden summarized the forum.
