Notice on Promoting the Green Development of E-commerce Enterprises

On January 11 , 2021, the general office of the Ministry of Commerce issued the Notice on Promoting the Green Development of E-commerce Enterprises (“The Notice”).

The Notice pointed out that e-commerce enterprises will continue to promote energy conservation and efficiency. Strengthen the concept of green development, raise the level of low-carbon and environmental protection, and enhance digital operation capabilities.

The Notice pointed out that coordinated efforts will be made to promote green supply chain management for express packaging. Promote the reduction of express packaging, the application of recyclable packaging, and standardize the use of express packaging.

The Notice pointed out that the advantages of the platform should be used to cultivate a green ecology. Implement green management responsibilities for e-commerce platforms, expand sales of green products, and actively guide green consumption.
